Well, as of yesterday (middle of week 23), I will be seeing my OBGYN and my diabetes specialist every two weeks until week 30, and then I'll be on an every week rotation.
At my appointment with Dr. Owens (my OB) yesterday she said that everything looks good! I heard his strong little heartbeat yet again...in the 140s, so right where he needs to be. She's pleased with my weight, blood pressure, and my blood sugars as of now, but she did say that I'm measuring a little ahead...about 26, so she wants to keep an eye on that going forward. So, she will measure at every appointment and then we are going to start growth ultrasounds at 29 weeks, then again at 33 weeks, then at 37 weeks, and any time after that is fair game for him to make an appearance!
Jason and I have our tour of the birthing suite next Wednesday, and we've scheduled an informational session with the doula staff at Rose Hospital (where we will deliver) for the last Saturday this month. We have reserved our spot in the birthing classes for every Wednesday in March, our breastfeeding class is an all day thing one Saturday in March, and our friends are already planning some showers for the little guy, so stay tuned for more frequent updates this year!!
I can't believe how quickly things are starting to go! I am getting more and more excited about meeting him the closer the date gets. Speaking of closer dates, start booking your trips soon to come out and meet the little fella after he's born...we'd love to see you all! :)
